April 30 – May 11 Flora Firenze

In 2015, Florence, Renaissance city and cradle of the Italian garden will be home to the most important European “floriculture” event dedicated to plants and flowers, making it the flourished door to expo in Milan.

The project provides a spectacular exhibition show aimed to promote the discovery and development of the “Made in Italy” in support of floriculture and related products derived from the earth, and in particular of agro quality products.

Florafirenze 2015 interprets the delicate work of revitalization and redevelopment of one of the most prestigious urban parks in Europe, stimulating the enjoyment by citizens and international tourism.

FloraFirenze is a walk through excellence. It starts with the host region, Tuscany and its landscape, which, continuing with an Italian garden, introduces to the walk in the various types of plants produced in Italy. You cross a desert environment, with an exotic garden where large succulents come out from the sand, to access the spectacular calm of the lake. Continuing we reach the tropical rainforest. A temperate garden, rich in Mediterranean examples, complete the biodiversity quickview of the various ecosystems.

Ends this first part of the walk a Japanese garden, where bonsai plants around the world, some over a hundred years of age, conclude the account.

In a special pavilion citrus and roses, are the protagonists of the two most prestigious collections in the world.

On the other side you enter the realm of the cut flower, the flower as a compositional element, with which artists and master florists, in an environment dedicated to the wedding, interpret his artistic and decorative evolution. Continuing the walk in the outside area you come through the gardens of most important nurserymen in Italy, who create suggestions of unforgettable landscapes with their individual pieces. From these gardens you can continue in the area dedicated to vegetable gardens, wellknown examples in many urban landscapes.

Finally we return to the Cascine city park with old trees that form the backdrop to a group of artists of Land art.

The ticket costs 20 Euros per person, free for children up to 5 years

Reduced tickets

  • Groups and/or groups (minimum 20 people) 17 € per person
  • Children between 6 and 14 years 12 € per person
  • For every 25 children in two primary schools teachers are free, students pay 10 euro each
